Itinerary

Stop 1Chateau Ksara

Chateau Ksara is known to be the oldest winery in Lebanon founded in 1857 by Jesuit priests. Château Ksara was the first Lebanese winery to introduce “modern” grape varietals – Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay et al – into Lebanon in the early 90s, eschewing the sector’s traditional reliance on less fashionable grapes such as Cinsault and Carignan. Today, its vineyards are home to some 20 varieties of grapes for the production of red, white, rosé wines, vin doux (sweet wine) and arak.
You are going to explore the way of manufacturing wine and enjoy tasting one of the best wines of Lebanon.

Stop 2Chateau kefraya

Château Kefraya, a huge estate in the West Bekaa Valley, has belonged to the Bustros family for centuries. The castle was constructed beginning in 1946 atop an artificial hill used by the Romans to spy their army movements centuries before.
Michel de Bustros, the company’s founder and visionary, is worked tirelessly to establish Château Kefraya’s vines on those lovely mountains. The first vines are planted in 1951, and Château Kefraya begins producing its own wine in 1979, despite the Lebanese civil war (1975-1990).

Stop 3Chateau Saint Thomas

Château St Thomas, founded in 1990 by Sad Touma and his family on a hill overlooking the Bekaa valley, is a vineyard covering 65 hectares as well as a wine storage facility for fermentation and ageing. Throughout history, this area has demonstrated an unrivaled ability to create outstanding wines. Château St Thomas is a work of art by Said Touma and his son Joe-Assaad. Sad Touma, a man of passion with more than 55 years of experience in grape juice distillation and fermentation, inherited the legacy of producing Arak (Lebanese national drink) and passed it on to his son Joe-Assaad, an agronomist & winemaker who followed in the family tradition with equal passion for great wine making & graduated from France.
